Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are able to name and understand topics of social and cultural sciences from a gender studies perspective. They can apply basic feminist approaches and analyse cultural issues.
Skills Knowledge
  • Students are able to name (k1) and understand (k2) introductory concepts of cultural gender studies.
  • They are able to apply these to social and cultural issues (k3) and recognize gendered power relations (k4).

Students are able to independently produce (k3) an introductory analysis of cultural arefacts.

Introductory feminist media theories as well as topics of social and cultural sciences through the lens of gender Studies. Possible Issuea are for example the relations of gender and ethnicity, representation of sexualities, digital media and cames or visiual media. Content and topics can change and will be announced each term.
Criteria for evaluation Attendance, active participation, submission of the required assessments.
