Competences |
| Students are able to recognize and critically evaluate relationships between culture and politics from a gender perspective. They are able to understand culture and politics as locations of gender politics and can analyse and critically discuss the tension between power and emancipation inherent in these politics.

- Students can understand and explain (k2) theoretical approaches of Gender Studies to politics and culture both in relation to political culture(s) and cultural politics
- They are able to apply (k3) these to phenomena in politics and culture and to analyse (k4) current tendencies
- They recognize relationships (k4) between politics and culture from a gender perspective and can critically discuss these in the light of theoretical approaches (k5).

Students engage with Gender Studies approaches to the relationships of politics, culture and gender. The specific focus of the seminar can change per term and could include for example:
- Political hegemonies, culture and gender
- Pop culture, subculture and critique
- Masculinities between transformation and re-masculinisation
- ‘cultur wars’ about gender/sexuality in Right-wing-populism
