  • Students acquire knowledge of the basic approaches, methods and theories of historical science and can assess their position and significance within the context of cultural studies.
  • Students can critically analyze historical research results and apply them to problems and questions in the broader field of cultural studies.
Skills Knowledge
  • Students can understand, explain, compare and critically evaluate basic approaches, methods and theories of historical science.
  • They can critically reflect on and use (including interdisciplinary) theories, methods and results of historical research and assess their relevance for cultural studies.
  • Students can identify and analyze practical problems of history (in the sense of an understanding of history as the prehistory of current problems) as well as the reflection in the sources and reflect on their significance in cultural studies.
  • Students are able to use the past as a potential for critical thinking and emancipatory reflection.
The students have acquired (partly differential, partly specific) knowledge of: The basic approaches, methods and theories of historical science and their position and significance within the framework of cultural studies, as well as of practically relevant problems of history in the sense of an understanding of history as the prehistory of current problems.
