  • The students acquire knowledge of methods and theories of historical science and define their position and significance within the framework of cultural studies.
  • The students analyze and evaluate historical research results and apply them to problems and questions in the field of cultural studies.

  • The students name and reproduce approaches, methods and theories of historical science.
  • The students explain methods and theories of historical science.
  • The students implement (also interdisciplinary) theories, methods and results of historical research (text/audio/audiovisual sources) analytically/practically.
  • The students link theories, methods and results of historical research with those of cultural studies (keyword: cultural turns).
  • The students critically examine theories, methods and results of historical research.
  • The students work actively with historical sources and generate 'new knowledge' based on questions of historical and cultural studies research.
The students have basic knowledge of culture, history, cultural history and cultural studies. They can deal critically with texts, audio sources and audiovisual sources. They know about the methods and theories of historical science and their position and importance within the framework of cultural studies, as well as about practical problems of history in the sense of an understanding of history as the prehistory of current problems.
