Learning Outcomes
Competences
The students acquire the competence to carry out basic plant engineering. They are able to design equipments (CAD), know the principle definitions of equipments, are able to select between different pumps and compressors, know about plant safety and are able to design a plant considering energy efficiency aspects.
Skills Knowledge
The students know and understand (k1 & k2) the concept of process plant engineering. They can design a basic flow diagram, flow diagram and P&ID (k3). The students can select between specific equipment’s and perform a heat integration (k4). The students are able to optimize the process under the consideration of safety aspects (k5). - Computer Aided Design - Equipments and data sheets - Flow diagrams - Pumps and compressors - Heat integration - Process design - Control strategies - Safety aspects - Chemical industry markets
Criteria for evaluation Results of individual and group works during the class and also from homeworks
Methods Lecture with parallel training and implementation of design examples in groups
