Competences
Students are able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the operation principle and control of electric motor drives, including electric machines and power electronics as well as select and size the electric drive components for medical technology applications.
Skills Knowledge
  • Understand the operation principle, structure and applications of electric motor drives ( k1-k3)
  • Implement and analyze the control methods for electric motor drives (k1-k5)
  • Analyze the key aspects in selecting electric drive components for medical technology applications (k1-k5)
  • DC machines, control and power electronics converters for DC drives.
  • Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM), control and power electronics converters for PMSM drives
  • Induction machines (IM), start-up and scalar control (U/f-control, Volts/Hz-control) of IM drives
  • Brushless DC motor (BLDC), stepper motors and magnetic gears
  • Measurements of current, position, and speed for the control of electric drives
