Learning Outcomes
Competences
  • Students can model biological structures such as bones, tissue, muscles, organs, etc. biomechanically, solve the mathematical models and interpret the results.
  • Students know and understand the modelling assumptions and the limitations of the models.
Skills Knowledge
  • Create static models of biological structures for strength analysis (k1-k6)
  • Creating kinematic multi-body models of biological structures (k1-k6)
  • Selection of suitable tools and material laws for modelling and simulation (k1-k5)
  • Fundamentals of continuum mechanics
  • Material laws
  • Advanced knowledge of numerical methods of continuum mechanics
  • Fundamentals of the kinematics of multi-body systems
  • Advanced knowledge of numerical methods of multibody mechanics
