Competences
The training schools (Linz Winter workshop and Summer School) foster interdisciplinary scientific exchange and provide participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of current research topics, methods, and challenges in the field of membrane protein and transport research. Through exposure to leading experts and peer discussion, participants strengthen their ability to critically evaluate scientific content and communicate research findings.
Skills Knowledge
Participants improve their ability to present complex scientific content clearly and confidently in front of a professional audience. They gain experience in scientific discussion and receive constructive feedback on their ongoing projects. Additionally, students develop soft skills in networking, collaboration, and critical self-reflection through active participation in group discussions and feedback sessions. Placing of the individual research topics into current progress and methods in membrane transport and related fields. Familiarity with diverse approaches to experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific communication across disciplines.
Criteria for evaluation 100% attendance. Active participation, presentation of thesis project and progress, contribution to discussion and feedback sessions.
Methods Discussion with PIs and peers from the school, guest researchers and advisory board members, student presentations (thesis project and progress), moderated group discussions, and peer feedback.
