(*)Students gain an advanced understanding of key experimental techniques used to study molecular transport, recognition, and signaling processes in biological systems. They develop the ability to critically evaluate methodological approaches and assess their applicability to specific research questions in membrane transport, protein interactions, and cellular signaling.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)Students acquire the ability to interpret and analyze experimental data obtained from advanced biophysical and biochemical techniques, such as high-resolution microscopy (including STED), electrophysiology in planar bilayers and cells, NMR spectroscopy of proteins, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of membrane proteins, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and cell biology methods applied to senescent and cancer cells. They learn to compare and integrate findings from different experimental approaches to gain mechanistic insights into molecular and cellular processes. (*)Principles and applications of high-resolution imaging (STED), electrophysiological measurements in artificial and cellular systems, protein structure and dynamics via NMR, molecular dynamics simulations of membrane proteins, force spectroscopy using AFM, and cell biology techniques in the context of cancer research.
