Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are able to understand special aspects of manufacturing machines and the underlying manufacturing processes. They will be able to specify and assess possible applications of such machines and processes. Furthermore, they are able to create and evaluate detailed mathematical models for selected manufacturing and process engineering tasks.
Skills Knowledge
Specifically, they can

  • understand and model in-depth aspects of modern machine tools (k2, k3, k4).
  • specify possible applications of such machines and processes (k2, k3).
  • analyze special topics such as the thermal or dynamic behavior of machine tools using appropriate mathematical models (k2, k3).
  • apply what they have learned using typical examples (k2, k3).
  • modern production machines and processes
  • mathematical models of machines and processes
  • special aspects such as: dynamic behavior of machine tools, thermal aspects, measuring and recording of machine and process parameters, active elements to improve accuracy, machining tests to check certain machine properties
