Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students are familiar with the dynamics and stability of nonlinear structural mechanics (beams, discs, plates and shells) and they understand the observed phenomena and their description with mathematical models. Students are able to treat simple problems of the dynamics and stability of structural mechanics with analytical and numerical methods.
Skills Knowledge
  • Understanding the governing equations for the dynamics and stability of beams, plates and shells (k2)
  • Applying the governing equations for beams for the analysis of vibrations and stability of beams (k3,k4)
  • Applying the governing equations for plates for the analysis of vibrations and stability of plates (k3,k4)
  • Applying the governing equations for axi-symmetric shells for the analysis of vibrations and stability of axi-symmetric shells (k3,k4)
  • Computing and evaluating the post buckling behavior of beams, plates and shells (k5)
  • Modeling and simulation of nonlinear rods as material lines
  • Modeling and simulation of nonlinear plates and shells as material surfaces
  • Analysis of vibrations of systems of structural mechanics
  • Stability analysis of systems of structural mechanics
