More specifically, upon completion of the course students will be able • to search for patent documents using specialized tools (k2, k3) • to search for scientific publications using specialized tools (k2, k3) • to understand and explain the basic requirements for patentability (k2) • to understand and explain the procedure from an invention to a patent (k1, k2) • use the CAS Scifinder platform to plan an experiment (k3, k6) • to understand and explain the structure of patent applications and a scientific publications (k1, k2, k3) Underlying concepts and mechanistic details of • patent law • metrics of scientific publications
Criteria for evaluation Written examination and assignment to be completed by the end of the course.
