Competences
Students are able to design appropriate concepts for the implementation of manufacturing tasks that require a high degree of automation, starting with CAD modeling through to the creation of NC codes for machine tools.
Skills Knowledge
Specifically, they can

  • understand the basics of CNC technology and apply them to specific manufacturing tasks (k2, k3)
  • analyze and evaluate machine tools and their components with regard to their properties for automated production (k3, k4)
  • understand and apply the various programming methods for NC machines (k2, k3)
  • understand the CAD-CAM process chain and its characteristics and requirements (k2)
  • understand typical functionalities of common CAD-CAM systems and evaluate their relevance for specific manufacturing tasks (k2, k3)
  • understand the basics of production control technology of modern manufacturing systems (k2)
  • understand the advantages of a CAD-CAM process chain for the tasks of quality management in manufacturing (k2)
