Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students know and understand mathematical models of the behavior of RF building-blocks and understand functions of RF-systems on a block-diagram level. They are able to simulate the behavior of such systems by means of computer-aided methods.
Skills Knowledge
  • Know, understand and use mathematical models of RF components (k1, k2, k3)
  • Analyze RF systems (k4, k5)
  • Apply and implement computer-aided RF simulations (k3)
  • Evaluate measurement and simulation results (k5)
  • Wave propagation on transmission lines in time- and frequency-domain
  • RF signal measurements
  • Frequency conversion
  • Electromagnetic field simulation
  • Scattering parameters
Criteria for evaluation Exam at the end of the course, active participation in the experimental tasks
Methods
  • Lecture
  • Practical experiments (hardware- and/or software-based)
