Students are able to present and discuss the progress of their Master's Thesis. They are able to critically reflect on the presentations of other students and to give inputs during discussions.

Defining one or more research objectives for the master’s thesis

Planning your own scientific project including design of experiments (k6)

Prepare a research proposal (k6)

Prepare, analyze and evaluate your research findings for presenting them (k5)

Present and defend a small research project in front of supervisor(s) and other students (k6)

Being able to use feedback on one's own research project for the further development of a research proposal (k4, k6)

Give feedback to other presenters (k5)

Structure and content of a research proposal

Selected topics in scientific working including basic statistics, design of experiments, scientific writing, and presentation skills

Criteria for evaluation Obligatory attendance for the Master's Thesis Seminar PES (how often you have to attend a meeting when presentations are held):

4 times (3 times listening to presentations, 1 time presenting)

The attendance can be gained at any of the three Polymer Engineering and Science institutes. The presentation is only possible at the institute where you write your Master's thesis.

Methods Presentation of the progress of the Master's Thesis, discussion of and reflection on the presentations.

Study material Basic literature is provided by the thesis advisor, but students should also do an independent literature research.

Further information This course provides a detailed examination of selected topics in polymer engineering and science. The contents are determined individually according to the topic of the thesis.
