Skills |
Knowledge |
Upon completing the course, students learn the following skills. They are able to
- describe the physical and technical fundamentals of lasers and explain their differences (k1-k3);
- explain and analyze the physical and technical fundamentals of laser-matter interactions (k1-k4);
- select and evaluate suitable laser processes for industrial, medical and scientific applications (k3-k5).
|
During the course, students acquire knowledge in the following areas of laser processing:
- physics and technology of lasers;
- laser drilling, cutting, welding and marking;
- laser-induced temperature increases in matter, melting, vaporization;
- ablation with short-pulse and ultrashort-pulse lasers;
- special laser applications;
- introductory knowledge of lasers in medicine.
