Lernergebnisse
Kompetenzen
(*)Students are able to analyze the structural durability of engineering materials, in particular fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites and sandwich structures, and predict their service life. They will be able to interpret load data, apply material models and make engineering statements using fatigue strength calculation methods.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)In particular, they are able to

Analyze damage mechanisms under fatigue loads and evaluate their influence on service life [k4, k5].

perform service life predictions for different load spectra and evaluate them using fatigue strength diagrams [k3, k6].

apply statistical methods to evaluate fatigue data and interpret results in an engineering context [k3, k5].

calculate creep mechanisms in polymeric materials using the time-temperature-superposition principle and evaluate their effects [k3, k5].
