Further information The core compulsory subject "Polymer Product Engineering" provides competences in the fields of component design and performance including the necessary theoretical, experimental and numerical methods and tools. It covers the numerical modelling of macroscopic components including aspects of microscopic structure formation during the polymer processing step and related issues of micromechanics accounting for the heterogeneous material morphology in components and in parts. Special attention is devoted to light weight design principles particularly also for advanced polymer matrix composite materials and their applications in engineering structures and mechatronics devices exposed to complex loading situations.
