Competences
In this course, students will be introduced to linguistic and scientific aspects of effective writing and presenting in academic settings. The first part of this course will progress from the smaller units of language on a lexical level, to writing longer texts. Students will work on their academic vocabulary, develop strategies for writing clear sentences, then move on to writing shorter texts in the genres of paragraphs and abstracts, and finally, develop strategies for writing descriptively and critically. The second part of the course will cover presenting academic work orally, where students will first be introduced to different presentation strategies and give their own presentations.
