Competences
Students can design and implement a web-based interactive dashboard consisting of multiple linked visualizations. They are trained in critical thinking to judge the many analytical, practical, and design decisions involved in this activity. They can apply these skills to non-trivial and domain-specific real-world problems.
Skills Knowledge
  • Review and summarize the state-of-the-art in a subfield of visualization (k2)
  • Understand a complex real-world dataset and domain problem (k2)
  • Apply state-of-the-art visualization theory to the domain problem at hand (k3)
  • Design and implement a web-based interactive dashboard consisting of multiple linked visualizations (k6)
  • Analyze the dataset using the developed solution (k4)
Theory, tools, and libraries that help create tailored interactive visualizations and dashboards.
Criteria for evaluation The course is project-based. Grading is based on presentations, active participation in discussions, and the delivery of a final report together with the documented source code.
