Competences
Students are able to present and discuss the progress of their Master's thesis project in a clear and systematic way. They are able to critically comment on the presentations of fellow students and to give inputs during discussions.
Skills Knowledge
Students are able to

  • present the design and the implementation of a non-trivial Computer Science project to fellow students and faculty members in a clear and systematic way using a well-designed slide set (K4, K5, K6)
  • discuss their project with the audience and to integrate suggestions into their project (K4, K5, K6)
  • actively participate in the discussions of other presentations and contribute sound comments and suggestions (K4, K5)
  • develop a time schedule for their project and present an outline of their written Master's thesis (K6)
The knowledge is derived from the contents of the individual courses of the Master's degree program in Computer Science.
Criteria for evaluation Clarity and elegance of the presentations and demonstrations; progress of the Master's thesis.
Methods Presentation of the progress of the Master's thesis; Demonstrations of implemented solutions; Discussion of and reflection on the presentations.
Language English
Study material Basic literature is provided by the thesis advisor, but students should also do an independent literature survey.
