Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students should have a basic knowledge on probability theory
Skills Knowledge
  • Know basic concepts and models of reliability theory
  • Construct reliability diagrams and system functions
  • Calculate and compare the availability of the system
  • Analyse the models with failures due to open circuit or short circuit
  • Derive the lifetime distributions of systems with hot and cold reserves
  • Estimate the lifetime estimates using maximum likelihood method
  • Apply the Markov chain models to analyse the complex unreliable systems
Calculation of the failure probability of a binary unreliable system with independent components, reliability analysis of system components and their subsets, calculation of the reliability function, estimation of the parameters of lifetime distributions, application of Markov processes for modelling unreliable systems
