| (*)Upon successful completion of the laboratory course in theoretical physics, students will be able to design and evaluate theoretical models independently, apply advanced theoretical techniques and critically analyze and interpret their findings. They will be skilled in problem-solving, integrating scientific literature into their work and refining their work through feedback. This course will equip students with the necessary competencies for carrying out their MSc thesis project in one of the Divisions of Theoretical Physics (Many Body Theory, Classical and Quantum Dynamics, Theoretical Biophysics).

(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- independently design and evaluate theoretical models (k4);
- apply the modeling to describe experimental observables (k4);
- identify problems that arise during work, analyze them and develop solutions independently (k5/k6);
- analyze their results rigorously, draw meaningful conclusions and present findings clearly in a well-structured report (k4/k5);
- critically evaluate the predictive power of the theory by comparison with other more accurate approaches and with experimental data from the scientific literature (k5);
- reflect critically on feedback and incorporate it into their work (k5).

(*)During the course, students will acquire practical knowledge in the building of theoretical models. The topics will be discussed with the supervisor of the MSc project.

| Beurteilungskriterien |
(*)A grade will be determined, based on the execution of the theoretical work, the critical analysis and discussion of results and the written report and/or oral presentation.

(*)Students are performing an advanced theoretical project in one of the Divisions of Theoretical Physics (Many Body Theory, Classical and Quantum Dynamics, Theoretical Biophysics).
