Competences
After successfully completing the course, students are able to independently engage with and comprehend English-language scientific literature. To develop a confident presentation style, students have prepared and delivered their own presentation to the group. They have gained the ability to focus on key content and present it in a clear and structured manner.
Skills Knowledge
Upon completing the course, students learn the following skills. They are able to

  • understand and critically evaluate English-language scientific literature (k4/k5);
  • plan and prepare a presentation in English (k6);
  • clearly communicate their topic using modern presentation techniques (k5/k6);
  • actively participate in scientific discussions following their own presentation (and the presentations of other students) (k4/k5).
Students acquire knowledge of current research topics and methods in the field of light-matter interactions. Students choose a topic from a range of suggestions in consultation with the seminar instructors.
Criteria for evaluation content and presentation of the lecture; active participation in the discussions
Methods seminar presentations with changing topics; discussion following each presentation
Language German or English
Study material The required literature for each presentation will be provided.
