Lernergebnisse
Kompetenzen
(*)Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to integrate advanced knowledge in the broader area of surface and nanoanalytics. Specifically, they are able to apply their previous knowledge of quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and solid state physics to current topics in surface and nanoanalytics.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to

  • understand and critically evaluate English-language scientific literature (k4/k5);
  • explain and discuss concepts in surface physics (k2/k5);
  • explain different measurement methods for surface and nanoanalytics (k2);
  • identify and extract the essential content of a scientific model, focusing on its fundamental principles and key assumptions (k4);
  • ask critical questions on modelling approaches in the area of surface and nanoanalytics (k5).
(*)During the course, students will acquire knowledge about specific and recent topics in the broader area of surface analysis and nanoanalytics. The actual topics of the course are rotating. They are announced each semester in the KUSSS system or can be requested from the person responsible for the lecture.
