Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- explain and summarize key models used to model stellar dynamics (k1/k2);
- compute radiative processes in astrophysical settings (k4);
- validate and critically discuss the range of validity of different approximations used in astrophysical settings (k5).

During the course, students will acquire knowledge in the following areas and concepts of astrophysics:
- astronomical coordinate systems and unit systems;
- establishing a cosmic distance ladder;
- formation of stars, planets and galaxies;
- overview over astrophysical objects;
- final stages of stellar evolution;
- gravitational dynamics, (solar systems, black holes).
