(*)Upon successful completion of the experiment, students are familiar with characteristic experimental methods and instrumentation used in the area of surface and nanoanalytics. They are able to design and carry out experiments, analyze results and critically evaluate findings within the context of the current scientific literature.

(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
develop an experimental hypothesis in the area of surface and nanoanalytics and plan the experiment (k6);
extract the underlying physics of the chosen experiment from textbooks and the scientific literature (in English) (k4);
set up and perform the experiment under supervision and with hands-on support (k6);
interpret the experimental findings (k4/k5);
present their results in a structured manner, focusing on the essential content (k5/k6);
actively participate in scientific and other discussions (k4/k5).
(*)During the course, students gain practical knowledge about current research topics and methods in the field of surface analysis and nanoanalytics. Students select the specific experimental topic after consulting with the practical course supervisor.
