(*)Upon successful completion of the experiment, students are familiar with characteristic experimental methods and instrumentation used in semiconductor physics. They are able to design and carry out experiments, analyze results and critically evaluate findings within the context of the current scientific literature.

(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- plan and carry out X-ray diffraction experiments for the characterization of epitaxial semiconductor layer samples (k2/k3);
- perform X-ray diffraction experiments with state-of-the-art instrumentation used in current research projects in the Division of Semiconductor Physics (k2/k3);
- analyze and summarize the obtained results in a report (k4/k5);
- critically discuss the results, also in the context of the scientific literature (k5).
|
(*)During the course, students will acquire practical knowledge in the experimental characterization of semiconductors, including heterostructures. Experiments will vary from semester to semester and will be selected from ongoing research activities in the Division of Semiconductor Physics.

Beurteilungskriterien |
(*)A combined grade will be determined, based on the preparation and execution of the experiment, the written protocol and the debriefing meeting with the supervisor, during which the results will be discussed.
