The following skills will be acquired by the students upon completing this laboratory course:
• Know and understand fundamental processes of fabrication for organic solar cells and critically evaluate potential safety risks. (k1, k2, k5)
• Fully master the laboratory techniques of cutting, labelling and cleaning glass samples in a predefined sequence and in various solvents. (k3)
• Perform solution deposition and vacuum deposition techniques of organic materials. (k3)
• Utilize physical vapor deposition systems for metal contacts. (k3)
• Perform measurement cycles of fabricated organic-based photovoltaic devices under illumination and in dark. (k3)
• Analyze the recorded data and critically assess the performance of the fabricated solar cells. (k4, k5)

This laboratory class help students build expertise in the following areas:
• Glass substrate preparation
• Organic active layer deposition techniques (both solution processing and vacuum processing routes)
• Measurement procedures of organic solar cells
• Understanding of the quality of the recorded data and critically assess the problems that may arise during the fabrication and measurement processes
