Kompetenzen |
(*)Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and established concepts of quantum electronics and optics, covering the areas listed below. They are able to apply general solution strategies to more complex problems in quantum electronics and optics.
This exercise is methodologically complemented by the lecture Quantum Electronics and Optics.

Kenntnisse |
(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- find solutions for physical problems in quantum electronics and optics, either on their own or together with colleagues (k3);
- apply and select concepts and suitable methods to problems not discussed in the lecture (k3/k4);
- explain quantum electronics and optics problems and concepts, as well as solution strategies (k2);
- present and discuss own ideas and solutions during the course to colleagues and teachers (k3/k4).
|
(*)During the course, students acquire problem solving competencies in the following areas of quantum electronics and optics:
quantum electronics:
- time evolution of matter states interacting with laser fields;
- Feynman diagrams, density matrix, application to two-level system;
- dressed states, coherent control and applications to solid state two-level systems, atomic clock, echo experiments;
- spontaneous and induced emission, lasers.
quantum optics:
- classical and non-classical light: properties and experiments;
- quantum degree of second order coherence;
- beam splitter in quantum optics;
- teleportation.
