Kompetenzen |
(*)Upon successful completion of the course, students are able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and established concepts of quantum electronics and quantum optics, covering the areas listed below. They can apply these concepts systematically to analyze and describe more general topics as well as systems in quantum electronics and optics.
This lecture is methodologically complemented by the exercise Quantum Electronics and Optics.

Kenntnisse |
(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- understand and explain basic concepts and phenomena in quantum electronics and optics (k1/k2);
- precisely and analytically formulate and interpret the laws of physics governing quantum electronics and optics (k1/k2);
- apply quantum electronics and optics principles and methods to more general systems not explicitly discussed during the lecture (k3).
|
(*)During the course, students will acquire knowledge in the following areas and concepts of quantum electronics and optics:
quantum electronics:
- time evolution of matter states interacting with laser fields;
- Feynman diagrams, density matrix, application to two-level system;
- dressed states, coherent control and applications to solid state two-level systems, atomic clock, echo experiments;
- spontaneous and induced emission, lasers.
quantum optics:
- classical and non-classical light: properties and experiments;
- quantum degree of second order coherence;
- beam splitter in quantum optics;
- teleportation.
