(*)Upon completing the course, students will possess the following skills. They are able to
- apply their mathematical and physical knowledge for deriving key equations and quantities in surface science (k3);
- describe and critically evaluate experimental methodologies used to investigate surfaces and thin films (k2/k5), with a focus on collecting and breaking down information from the scientific literature (k4);
- apply fundamental surface science concepts and equations for the analysis of experimental data (k3/k4).
|
(*)During the course, students will acquire knowledge in the following areas and concepts of surface science:
- electronic properties of surfaces;
- dynamic properties (phonons and adsorbate vibrations);
- thermodynamics of surfaces and thin films;
- adsorption and desorption;
- diffusion and growth on surfaces.
