(*)The lecture on Organometallic Chemistry is focusing on the chemistry of compounds containing transition metal-carbon bounds and their application in organic synthesis and modern catalytic processes. The lecture features the basic concepts of transition metal chemistry and the synthesis of a wide variety of compounds and complexes. Beside the chemistry of transition metals also element-organic chemistry of the main group elements will be discussed where appropriate and comparisons drawn between elements and groups. Important concepts like the isolobal concept, cluster chemistry, bonding models, organometallic photochemistry, sustainability of transition metal chemistry, etc. will be discussed as well.
