Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students will be able to learn, understand and review basic working methods used in practical laboratory work, with an emphasis on industrially relevant work, such as high temperature and high-pressure processes or inert working. They will master, analyze and evaluate a practical workflows and setups of relevance to industrial chemistry relevant to the institute.
Skills Knowledge
More specifically, upon completion of the course, they will be able to:

  • Carry out, analyze and critically review synthesis apparatuses and characterization methods in high temperature and/or high-pressure processes. (k3, k4, k5, k6)
  • Theoretically synthesize, purify and isolate the targeted compound using established methods. (k3, k4, k5, k6)
  • Have a background in analysis and characterization of chemical products by state-of-the-art analytical techniques. (k3, k4, k5, k6)
The course introduces practical techniques and theoretical background to the following experimental manipulations and industrially-relevant products:

  • Preparation, separation, purification, characterization of industrially important products by high temperature, high-pressure chemistry.
  • Setting up reaction apparatuses (k2, k3), evaluate and generate experiments and characterization pathways (k5, k6)
