(*)Students will gain the ability to integrate basic knowledge from chemistry, physics, and biology to analyze and understand bioelectronics systems.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)The following skills will be acquired by the students upon completing this course without requiring prior knowledge • analyze and interpret basic bioelectric phenomena, such as resting and action potentials, through mathematical and graphical representations. (k4) • integrate interdisciplinary concepts from chemistry, biology, and electronics to solve basic problems in bioelectronics. (k4) • evaluate the interplay of electrochemical processes in neuronal signaling and communication. (k5) • explain various neuro-electronic technologies, such as brain-machine interfaces, deep-brain stimulations, neural recordings, and wireless implantable neuro devices. (k2) • develop presentation skills together with their technical communication proficiency (k6) (*)The following topics will be covered: • the relevance of organic semiconductors in bioelectronics. • basic concepts of bioelectricity, including neuron membrane resting potential, action potential generation, and propagation. • the mechanisms of electrical and chemical synaptic signal transmission and their dependence on electrochemical processes. • neurotransmitters in neural communication and signal modulation. • introduction to electroceuticals. • introduction to neuro-electronics.
