Learning Outcomes
Competences
This lab course is designed as a second basic practical course about polymer chemistry. Students learn to synthesize and characterize polymers at a fundamental level using basic polymerization reactions and routine analytical tools under moderate guidance of the lecturer.
Skills Knowledge
After completion of the course, students will be able to • know, understand, and apply basic polymerization reactions [k1, k2, k3]. • carry out basic experiments in the field of polymer chemistry [k1, k2, k3]. • know, understand, and apply routine analytical tools for the characterization of the synthesized polymers [k1, k2, k3, k4]. • understand physico-chemical properties of the synthesized polymers [k1, k2, k5]. • document the experimental details in form of protocols [k2, k3]. • Knowledge of basic polymerisation reactions. • Experimental skills in basic syntheses and the characterisation of polymers. • Skills in determining and evaluating the physico-chemical properties of polymers. • Knowledge of how to prepare a report on the experiments and results.
