Learning Outcomes |
Competences |
The course aims to provide students with a basic overview of sample preparation methods used in biochemistry and omics disciplines, including sample collection, isolation, purification, and separation of biologically important substances from various matrices.
Special attention is also paid to sample storage and preparation, possible causes of contamination and their solutions, advantages and disadvantages of individual methods, and their applicability.

|
Skills |
Knowledge |
Students know the basic principles of sample preparation for various purposes and analyses (k1), can explain the principles of various techniques (k2) and perform these methods in preparation of samples (k3), compare, differentiate and evaluate the differences in various methods (k4, k5), and design a protocol for sample preparation for a specific application (k6).
|
Students will try and become familiar with the basic principles and procedures of sample preparation used in omics disciplines with an emphasis on solving various issues that may arise during the sample preparation (e.g., sample storage, stability, contamination, purification, etc.)
