(*)Students will develop a basic understanding of the concepts of physical chemistry and will be able to calculate and solve practical physicochemical examples, which are relevant to life sciences, technical applications and industrial processes.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)More specifically, upon completion of the course they will be able to - understand and calculate examples in the field of physical chemistry, with a focus on gas laws, chemical thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics (k2, k3, k4) - apply the correct concepts as well as theories to perform physicochemical calculations (k3) - use and modify physicochemical equations to suit specific calculational scenarios or conditions (k3, k4) - understand, evaluate and critically analyse the calculational results based on the applied theories (k2, k4, k5) (*)BUnderlying concepts and details of - ideal gas law and the description of real gases - thermochemistry and chemical thermodynamics - colligative properties - surface phenomena - chemical kinetics - enzyme kinetics - electrochemistry
