Quellcurriculum Bachelorstudium Biological Chemistry 2025W
Lernergebnisse
Kompetenzen
(*)Students will be able to understand, explain, and evaluate the basic reactions, reaction mechanism and techniques used in the basic organic chemistry lab course.
Fertigkeiten Kenntnisse
(*)More specifically, upon completion of the course they will be able to - understand and explain the underlying mechanisms of nucleophilic substitution reactions, elimination reactions, electrophilic and nucleophilic addition reactions, rearrangements, cycloaddition reactions and reactions of aromatic compounds (k2, k3, k4) - predict, explain, and describe the outcome of reactions belonging to these mechanistic regimes (k3, k6) - understand the differences in reactivities of different functional groups under various reaction conditions (k2, k4, k5) - develop retrosynthesis plan. (*)Underlying concepts and mechanistic details of - nucleophilic substitution reactions - elimination reactions - electrophilic addition reactions - nucleophilic addition reactions - rearrangements and pericyclic reactions - reactions of aromatic compounds
Beurteilungskriterien (*)Written tests on subchapters.

More than 50% of the periodic test must be passed positively. A final test about the entire course may be taken to improve the result.

Lehrmethoden (*)Lectures, Q/A session, exercises on paper.
