Criteria for evaluation |
A written exam (present) and the preparation of a case study (group work and presentation) are relevant for the assessment. A total of 65 points can be achieved, of which 40 points are for the exam and 25 points for the case study. A positive assessment requires at least 12.5 points in the case study and at least 20 points in the exam.
The following assessment key is used:
Points | Grade |
56.00-65.00 | Very good (1) |
49.00 - 55.50 | Good (2) |
41.00 - 48.50 | Satisfactory (3) |
32.50 - 40.50 | Sufficient (4) |
0.00 - 32.00 | Not Sufficient (5) |
The written exam lasts 40 minutes. It basically consists of open questions (e.g.
calculation examples, theoretical questions, case studies), but can also contain closed questions (e.g. single-choice questions). There are two exam dates per semester, with the better grade counting if you take the exam on both dates.
In addition, participation points can be obtained for the presentation of the practice examples, which can be between a maximum of -3 and +3 points depending on the preparation. These participation points are included as a
bonus or penalty in the total number of points.
Feedback culture:
In relation to the case study and the preparation of the practice examples, the course leaders provide individual feedback
from the course leaders. In addition, the students receive additional group feedback on the elaboration and presentation of the case study from their colleagues. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to view their exams twice a semester and receive feedback on their performance.
Assessment criteria and learning outcomes:

- LO3: Written exam, case study, practice examples
- LO4: Written exam, practice examples
- LO5: Written exam, practice examples

Methods |
The IK uses a combination of different teaching methods to
- maximize the motivation and attention of the students
- achieve the learning objectives in the best didactically possible way.
This includes the following:
- Teacher-centered information input, supported by slides and a collection of examples
- Self-directed learning, supported by a collection of examples and supplementary literature
- Application of concrete case and calculation examples for independent preparation and subsequent presentation and discussion during the course
- Preparation of a case study of a real company in groups, followed by a presentation and discussion in class
