Learning Outcomes
Competences
Students acquire theoretical and experimental skills necessary for calcium imaging measurements in cell lines and primary cells.
Skills
Knowledge
Preparing precise intracellular and extracellular imaging solutions
Conducting calcium imaging experiments in cell lines and primary cells
Analyzing and interpreting the obtained results.
Identification of different protocols for distinct scientific questions.
Trouble shooting and optimization of protocols.
Basic understanding of cell physiology and calcium signaling.
Methodologic principles of calcium imaging, including ratiometric calcium dyes and genetically encoded calcium indicators (GECIs).
Knowledge of distinct imaging methods and their applications.
Criteria for evaluation
Attendance of at least 75 %.
Active participation during the course. Teachers will judge on students´ learning behavior and experimental results to give evaluation.
