Students can identify and differentiate various types of intracranial hemorrhages, and understand the pathophysiology of intracranial hypertension and its implications for neurosurgical intervention.

  • Diagnosing different types of intracranial hemorrhages.
  • Differentiating hemorrhages caused by trauma, vascular malformations, and spontaneous events.
  • Assessing the impact of intracranial hypertension on patient management.
  • Understanding neurosurgical approaches for hemorrhage treatment.
  • Intracranial hypertension and brain herniation.
  • Types of hemorrhages: epidural, subdural, and traumatic intracerebral.
  • Cerebral aneurysms, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and posthemorrhagic vasospasm.
  • Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and cavernomas.
  • Posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus and treatment strategies.
