- Students know the technical terms for individual parts of the human body as well as for diseases (K2).
- They can conduct a patient-doctor-conversation with detailed medical questions and document the results in a structured manner (A3).
- They are proficient in common expressions and the style of conversation between doctors and patients (A3).
- They understand simple clinical case descriptions and can reproduce and discuss them (A2).
- Students know the most important basics to prepare for a medical lecture (A2).
- Students are also prepared for patient-doctor conversations in an intercultural context.

Students acquire knowledge of medical terminology in English in the following areas:
- The human body, medical interventions;
- Taking and documenting medical histories;
- Doctor-patient communication (on topics such as vaccination, nutrition and giving general medical advice);
- Medical ethics, medical innovations, different healthcare systems in an international context, intercultural differences in patient communication;
- Interpretation and analysis of simple clinical case descriptions;
- Oral and written summarization of texts in a clearly structured form;
- Independent writing of medical texts;
- Presentation in English.

Criteria for evaluation |
The final grade is determined by continuous assessment. Attendance of at least 80% of the lectures and active participation are required. The overall assessment is composed of the following: Presentation(s) on current, international medical and/or healthcare topics, terminology tests, reading and writing homework, a final oral examination and a portfolio
