| Objectives |
The lecture builds on the contents taught in the subject of social science and sociological theories of the digital society. Students possess deep and integrative knowledge of social science debates concerning the significance of digitalization processes for modern societies and the social processes that shape them.

| Subject |
The lecture provides fundamental knowledge about social science and sociological debates regarding the significance of digitalization processes for modern capitalist societies. It offers an overview of current international theoretical approaches and debates. Topics include: changes in societal structures of inequality and social conflicts due to digitalization (Digital Divide); the redefinition of the relationship between material and immaterial processes; dynamics of scientific-technological socialization concerning individuals, organizations, institutions, across different sectors, and their political embedding and regulation; the role of knowledge generation, processing, dissemination, regulation, and archiving; the significance of surveillance and societal control; the algorithmization and datafication of society.

Active participation, pre- and post-reading of texts, lecture and discussion protocols, reflection papers.
