| Objectives |
The objective of this field of study is to deepen engagement with an empirical or theoretical question/problem. The focus will be put on selected problems of social change, conflicts and burning social problems.

| Subject |
The contents will either be theoretically or empirically oriented or they will combine both. The following alternatives are possible: acquisition, discussion and comparison of theoretical approaches; reconstruction and discussion of social developments and dynamics and the conflicts connected to them; examination and engagement with theoretical and empirical states of the art (in an international comparative perspective) concerning the areas of research of the Institute of Sociology in Linz, in particular, work, education, care, development, family, health, migration, organisation, social movements, environment, economy.
