Objectives |
In this course, students should equally develop all four skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking). They should be enabled to correctly apply basic German grammar and basic vocabulary for everyday use and produce, understand and communicate in German on level A1+ (A1/A2) in accordance with the Common European Framework of References for languages. Students should get a basic idea of German culture. After this course, students can take an ÖSD exam (Austrian language diploma of German) at level A1 or – for those with previous knowledge or further interest in German – A2.

Students will be able to: present themselves and give information about another person, ask and answer personal questions,
go shopping, order in a restaurant,
write and read informal e-mails and text messages, postcards
ask the way, ask for and offer help,
express and react to an excuse,
describe a person, an item or a place,
state wishes, talk about plans,
arrange and postpone a date,
describe pain and illness and give advice,
express and react to requests and demands,
express their opinions on a basic level,
talk about rules,
give reasons,
express good wishes and congratulations,
understand advertisements, blogs, informal e-mails (e.g., invitations),
simple newspaper articles.
