Objectives Students understand the behavior of firms that compete with others and are able to evaluate the impact of this behavior on consumers. In addition to understanding these relationships, students should be able to apply this knowledge to specific questions related to pricing policy, market entry and product choice, cartel formation, or firm mergers.
Subject The topics of the course may differ between the semesters (depending on the instructor). They usually comprise a content-related and/or methodological input, as well as the application to specific aspects of the policy field "Competition and Consumer Protection". The application in this seminar includes replication of existing results as well as conducting original research.
