Students have the required methodological knowledge for initializing, implementing, monitoring, and managing IT projects. They are familiar with the state of the art in information engineering and the underlying theories, in particular with project management as a management concept. They are able to apply project management techniques on specific Business Informatics projects that are typically run in practice. They know that the successful completion of IT projects is based on both,
a creative and collaborative negotiation process as well as an engineering design process. Students have the knowledge to evaluate methods and tools, which are relevant for management of IT projects and apply them in practical projects when working as a team.

Teaching methods: The content is conveyed in the form of an interactive lecture based on discussions and case studies with guest lectures which is accompanied and supplemented by a classroom exercise. The theoretical lecture contents and recordings are available online at lecture.ie.jku.at. Lectures and exercises are coordinated with each other and should therefore be attended in the same semester. Based on the lecture material, exercises are to be solved and presented in group works within the classroom exercise course.
