Objectives
Students obtain fundamental knowledge about political organization, factors of influence impinging
on political processes and outcomes. Special attention is paid to principles of democracy and political processes in democratic polities. Apart from these substantive issue areas the second objective is to acquaint students with core concepts and the most important theoretical models and styles of argumentation in social science analyses of political systems and political dynamics.
Subject
In the different substantive issue areas some of the core theoretical approaches and empirical findings of social science scholars will be introduced, such that students get a sense of the thematic and theoretical scope of Political Science.
