Objectives students know basic concepts and definitions of demography and population dynamics in Austria and Upper Austria

students can acquire and interprete population statistics and basic demographic measures for Austria

students have discussed the impact of social change on demographic quantities and the effect of demographic trends

Subject demographic data

computation of demographic measures (fertility, mortality, migration)

analysis of social causes and effects of demographic trends

discussion of problems and chances, resulting from low fertility, high life expectancy, migration and demographic aging for the Austrian population
